The Challenge
The idea behind Al-Basma emerged after observing recurring challenges faced by employees when tracking attendance, leave balances, and financial entitlements across different work environments. Many employees expressed the need for a professional digital solution that would help them manage and verify their records more effectively.
In many cases, employees relied entirely on official company records without having a personal system that allowed them to review their daily activities or verify final calculations against what had actually occurred throughout the month.
Over time, the need became clear for a solution that could provide greater visibility into workdays, attendance records, leave balances, deductions, and daily responsibilities while helping users organize both their professional and personal lives from a single place.
The Vision
The goal was to develop a flexible platform that could be easily accessed from both mobile devices and desktop computers while going far beyond the traditional concept of attendance tracking systems.
Rather than simply recording data, the platform was designed to help users understand, analyze, and utilize that data to make better decisions.
The vision centered around creating a smart digital assistant that enables users to continuously monitor attendance, performance, tasks, and personal finances while providing organizational tools that support greater productivity and day-to-day efficiency.
Development & Expansion
Al-Basma was initially developed as a web-based platform focused on attendance, leave management, payroll tracking, and deduction monitoring. As the project evolved, its scope expanded to include task management, appointment scheduling, personal diaries, and personal finance management within a unified user experience fully optimized for Arabic-speaking users.
The platform includes a flexible attendance engine, detailed audit records, analytical dashboards, and reporting tools that provide users with instant insights into their data. It also incorporates cloud integrations that enable synchronization, backup, and seamless connectivity with Google services.
The system was designed as a Progressive Web App (PWA), allowing users to install and use it on smartphones and desktop devices while maintaining speed, accessibility, and ease of use.
The Achievement
What began as a solution for recurring administrative challenges evolved into a comprehensive productivity platform actively used by employees to manage attendance, organize daily activities, and maintain their professional and personal records.
The platform provides a continuous digital record that helps users review their data with greater confidence, understand their daily performance more clearly, and make better-informed professional, financial, and organizational decisions.
Today, Al-Basma delivers an integrated experience that combines productivity, organization, monitoring, and analysis within a single environment, helping users gain deeper visibility into their work and daily activities.
